09 Aug 3rdThird Marketing Joins Forces with The Pike Place Market Foundation to Create an Event App for the Sunset Supper 2019
Throughout Seattle, The Sunset Supper has the reputation as being THE party of the summer. On the evening of August 16, the iconic Pike Place Market will transform into a one-of-a-kind event venue, filled with 112 of Seattle’s finest chefs, wineries, breweries and more.
Epicureans will taste an unlimited bounty of Northwest fresh foods and libations (yes, all you can eat and drink!), have the chance to win fabulous prizes and dance the night away under the stars to live music. The Sunset Supper is the Pike Place Market Foundation’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
Event proceeds support the foundation’s mission of reducing social isolation and increasing support networks that provide access to healthy food, housing, education, healthcare and much more. Last year the Market’s Senior Center served 48,000 nutritious meals and hosted 861 wellness engagement activities.
We always wanted to get involved with the Pike Place Market Foundation, so last year 3rdThird Marketing and the Culinary Coach officially selected the foundation as our company’s charity of choice. Since the Market is just down the street from 3rdThird headquarters and they support a senior center and provide affordable senior housing, the Pike Place Market Foundation was an organic choice (pardon the pun) that fits our culture and values.
This summer, 3rdThird Marketing volunteered to develop an event app for the Sunset Supper. The Sunset Supper app was created with a vision of providing guests with a complete culinary tour through the Sunset Supper event and providing event guests with a seamless experience.
The app evolved rapidly from its prototype stage into a full-fledged app that launched Tuesday, August 6 in preparation for the upcoming event. It features an interactive event map where guests can map out their night, a personalized schedule feature, an internal social feed where guests can post their favorite pictures of evening, and detailed descriptions of the food and vendors accompanied by their menu items.
This isn’t just a wonderful opportunity for 3rdThird Marketing, but it is also a great opportunity for the Culinary Coach, our sister company. Culinary Coach is a full-time consulting and coaching service for all areas of a retirement community’s dining and dietary needs, which includes hands-on implementation of policies and procedures. The Sunset Supper is right up Culinary Coach’s alley. Executive chef Shawn Boling and chef Mike Peacock will be at the event, tasting their way through the Market. The app was developed pro bono by 3rdThird Marketing, and is now available for download in the App Store for free. Tickets to the Sunset Supper start at $175 for General Admission, this ticket level grants you full access to the bounty of food, sweet treats, delicious drinks, and events at the Sunset Supper. How to Download the Sunset Supper Event App
- Open the App Store and download ‘Guidebook’.
- Once Guidebook is downloaded, click ‘Find Guides’ in the bottom right hand corner.
- In the search bar located at the top of the screen, look up ‘Sunset Supper’.
- Download and enjoy!
